EVANGELIST SONYA J. LACY
Mrs. Sonya J. Lacy is an anointed woman of God who is blessed with many God-given gifts. A native of Valley, Alabama, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from the Auburn University School of Business. She has also completed an Initial Certification Program in Early Childhood Education at Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. She earned a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (Gr. K-12) at Walden University. She is a 2012 graduate of Mercer University with an Educational Specialist in Teacher Leadership.
Mrs. Lacy has faithfully served the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church Family Decatur, GA under the leadership of Pastor Jerry D. Black as a Children’s Ministry Coordinator. She now serves as the Christian Education Director for the Gilead Christian Church leadership of Pastor John R. Lacy. Her service also extended beyond her church family to include an appointment as the Northeast Regional Youth Director of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, INC. Mrs. Lacy is currently an instructor for the Congress of Christian Education for the State of Georgia, an auxiliary to the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and has served as an instructor of the National Congress of Christian Education.
Mrs. Lacy is a gifted Christian Education Specialist, a chosen disciple of Christ and a dedicated community servant. She is a certified Public School Teacher for the State of GA and serves as an Early Childhood Educator at Baldwin Elementary School in Norcross, GA entrusted as a Literacy Instructional Coach. She is a member of Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in Lawrenceville, GA.
Mrs. Lacy has received many awards and accolades for her service to the Body of Christ. She was awarded the Certificate of Leadership in Children’s Work by the National Congress of Christian Education. She is also the Outstanding EDS Student for Mercer University Atlanta Campus 2012 Graduating Class. Mrs. Lacy was honored at the 2014 Teacher of the Year for the Regional Congress of Christian Education with the Sunday School Publishing Board.
Sonya J. Lacy is the loving wife of Pastor John R. Lacy and the mother of two wonderful sons, Reuben (Dustyn) and Jeremy. She is the proud Glam-ma of three beautiful grandchildren Nolan, Natalie Grace, and Nehmiah. The Lacy family resides in Snellville, GA. She is a vessel to God’s Glory and striving to serve the Body of Christ through pray fully and enthusiastically training others to pass on God’s Word through sound doctrine and Christian Service.
